Why I am writing a blog

I am calling for the church to wake up to the reality of what is happening in our world today and engage with biblical resources and winsome involvement.
For years I have felt that the church in America is sleeping. Lulled by the apparent security of our worship and beliefs, we have grown apathetic, afraid to merely mention the name of Jesus to our most intimate friends.
But the enemy has not been sleeping. While our eyes were closed, he has been softly, almost imperceptibly filtering lies and half-truths into our message of the Gospel. While we have turned a blind eye, the purity of the Gospel has been compromised.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
As a result of our ambivalence, churches are embracing a false gospel, slipping away from the truth of Scripture into a humanity-focused faith.
Now is the time to ask: Do we really believe? Is Jesus really the Son of God? Is He the only way to salvation? Are those who do not find Christ destined for hell? Is the Bible true?
If you are certain of these things but not sure how to apply those truths to cultural issues, or if you are just beginning to wonder if it's all really true in the first place, I hope this blog will be a place of equipping, a tool for the church to use to "put on the full armor of God," and "after you have done everything, to stand" (Ephesians 6:13).
Thanks for joining with me in this journey. I hope that by walking together, we may run toward Christ more quickly still.
